1/4/2001 - Have you ever bought a wheel and brought it home, only to find out you couldn't mount the thing on your desk? I have, and I can speak from experience that it is real frustrating. And if you have a Console setup in your living room, where are you suppose to put the steering wheel… on your coffee table? The Podium may be the solution you have been looking for.

The idea here is fairly simple - you basically straddle The Podium between your legs and your thighs hold it down. This style enables you to be able to get comfortable in your favorite chair, couch, or just sit on the floor! The Podium makes playing games in the living room more comfortable than ever!
One difference between a desk mount setup is that mounting to a desk promotes totally stability - meaning the unit doesn't move at all. When you use The Podium and you are in the heat of battle, the unit slightly moves in the direction you are moving. However, once you get used to using it you will find it less noticeable and a fair trade off for the additional comfort of kicking back in your favorite chair.
The guys at Spectra Video only advertise this stand working with wheels, but it also works nicely for joystick set ups.
I definitely recommend this device as an option for your living room console setups, it really resolved some issues for me. Although unauthorized, it also works nicely as a TV tray for munching while watching the tube ;) |

RECOMMENDATIONS to the Vendor
LAZ
- I would like to see more area for you to hold the unit down. If the bottom platform area that your thighs go on was bigger, it may make it a bit more stable.
- The attaching pole should be centered on the table, so there would be more area for a larger variety of wheels to easily mount to.
