Name: - Eliminator AfterShock
Gravis Description: Feel the exhilaration with the Gravis game pad boasting dual analog controls and rumble feedback. Eliminator Aftershock gives you two independent analog controls that let you turn side-to-side as you run or hit the accelerator as you steer - all while you experience every hit, explosion, and collision right in your hands. You'll feel the difference.

3/17/2001 - The more I get to experience the rumble feedback game pads, the more I like them. It just seems to add a missing element to the whole gaming experience. Gravis has been around for a long time, and they stand behind their quality with a robust 3 year warranty. I reviewed this controller with the following games: Madden 2000 (comes with the controller), JetFighter IV, and Motocross Madness 2.

First Impression |
The controller has a very nice 'quality looking' silver metallic finish. As soon as I got it in my hands, I new we were off to a great start! |

Software Installation |
The installation was very uneventful… just the way I like it! The manual takes you step-by-step through the install, and it went off with out a hitch. |

Software Controller Interface |
The interface is called the Gravis Xperience… and they aren't kidding! These guys have developed the most innovative interface I have seen to date. The program design had me scratching my head, asking myself - 'how did they do that?'. It isn't your standard 'square' or 'rectangle' framed window - instead, this baby has some curves. It looks like something that came right out of a Star Wars movie. Now, all of this would be for not if they hadn't come through with a very functional interface. But again, they simply did not disappoint. The menu options, help files, and configurations are exceptional. I just can't say enough about how much I liked this interface. |

Game Included |
The FULL version of Madden 2000 is enclosed. Anyone who regularly reads my reviews, knows I like to see games ship with controllers. The controller is a very good match with the game, and I had a lot of fun with this combination. The rumble was great when you smacked into a guy (or got smacked) and the game is high quality and a lot of fun. |

Help Instructions |
Staying on par with this great gamepad experience, the help instructions are outstanding. The controller comes with one of the best paper manuals of any controller I have seen to date. It is very simple to follow, and has many pictures (I am a visual guy, and I like the 'what you see is what you get' approach). When you are in the Xperience interface, on screen help is only a click away. The on screen help is very detailed, and makes configurations and other issues, simple to resolve. |

Comfort |
The seams of the controller are nicely contoured and present a very smooth comfortable feel. The buttons were very easy to get to, and the triggers, buttons, and analog controls all screamed of good quality. |

Construction (Quality) |
If you have been reading this review, you already know what I am going to say here. The quality of this product is outstanding, and the company knows they have something durable when they stand behind it with a 3 year warranty. The rumble features work very well, and they are powered through the USB port, so they don't require batteries (a major plus for me considering a rumble feature). |

Looks |
I like the way the controller looks. The silver metallic finish is the highest quality of this look that I have seen, and I like it (when done wrong - this type of finish, generally looks cheesy). |

Value (price for what you get) |
The controller offers a competitive price and has too many standout items not to give a high grade. A game is included, outstanding help options, a great interface, and the 3 year warranty - all add up to one thing… an excellent value. |

RECOMMENDATIONS to the Vendor
LAZ
- I would like to see the TILT technology added to this controller - this would make it a combination that would accommodate virtually every need in one controller.
